About the Event
Success gets you in the room. Power is what happens once you’re there.
Drawing on three decades of leadership in a male-dominated industry, Cherie Concannon brings hard-earned lessons from boardroom battles, difficult decisions, and high-stakes conflict to this powerful Golf & Grit conversation.
This session is about learning to own your authority fully, unapologetically, and on your own terms—even before you feel completely confident doing it. Cherie will challenge you to rethink the moments that often feel uncomfortable—the hard conversation, the pushback, the unpopular decision—and recognize them as opportunities to strengthen your authority and leadership.
Because sometimes there is no green light coming. The next step is learning to lead as if you already have it.
What You'll Walk Away With
- The ability to act with authority before you feel confident. Learn why confidence doesn't always have to come first—and how stepping forward can help build it.
- A new perspective on difficult leadership moments. See hard conversations, pushback, and unpopular decisions not simply as risks, but as opportunities to establish and strengthen your authority.
- Permission to stop waiting for permission. Understand that no one may hand you the green light—and leave more prepared to trust yourself, make the call, and lead as if you already have it.
About Cherie
Cherie Concannon has spent decades working quietly inside boardrooms—not as the story, but often as the force behind it. As an executive coach, she has worked alongside some of the UK's most consequential leadership teams, helping capable number twos and threes step into the authority required to lead the room, the company, and the deal.
Known for her ability to read a room and understand the dynamics of influence, Cherie has built a career helping leaders recognize and own their power. Today, she works alongside her son at RPO, scaling that experience with a larger mission: helping more women step into positions of influence.
Born on a sheep farm in Western Australia, Cherie's journey has been fueled by an appetite for more—for possibility, for scale, and for refusing to accept the size of the life she was handed.
